This talk begins with a consideration of teaching and learning challenges in our times. Some of the challenges specific to electromagnetic education are also noted. The talk then considers several ideas for enhancing the effectiveness of teaching electromagnetics. While the importance of teacher enthusiasm and a continued focus on conceptual clarity are emphasized, additional possibilities such as use of MATLAB codes, animations and student presentations are also discussed.
